WEC pursues reciprocal healing between humans and the earth by providing tools and programming to support and educate.
The Well Earth Collaborative (WEC) brings together the expertise of professionals trained in various fields to provide education, assistance, and support for those suffering from chronic complex conditions associated with environmental stressors, exposures, and impacts.
We also focus on prevention of illness by increasing awareness of public health issues related to our environment and ways to improve ecosystem wellness. We do so by networking communities and organizations at the grassroots level to nurture the relationship between people and the planet.
Our charity, Friends of the Healing Forest believes that environmental and ecosystem health and human wellness are deeply connected. We endeavour to support people suffering from chronic complex conditions and environmentally-linked illnesses that have led to socio-economic and social stigmatization; and practitioners, programs and projects that support these people.
The balance of energy between human beings and nature is crucial. Our approach is to help re-establish that balance by addressing the bio-psycho-social-spiritual elements of health via programming, education and support.
Our philosophy is based on the mutual sustainability and nourishing relationships between humans and nature more widely, and how these can promote healing.
As beings in nature, our wellness is comprised of many evidence-based factors, including the biological, the psychological, the social, and the spiritual.
WEC programs are led by our group of professionals, ranging from medical doctors, naturopaths, dentists, and other allied healthcare professionals, as well as philosophers, artists, advocates and educators.
