Shakufe has a Physiotherapy degree from McGill University and a Master’s in Business from the Schulich School of Business.
She has been working in health care for the past 25 years in a variety of health care settings including clinics, hospitals, home care and the government. Currently, she works at the Ontario Ministry of Health.
Shakufe has personal experience with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and is passionate about educating, supporting and advocating for people with environmental conditions.
She is also an avid researcher and has done extensive literature reviews about environmental sensitivity and toxic substances found in food, water and personal care products as well as in the workplace and the home. She uses this research to support the diagnosis, treatment and accommodation of people with environmental conditions.
